Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara born February 28, 1948) is an American singer, actress and author of children's books. In her career of six decades she has appeared on film, television, and in musical theatre. She also gave concert performances on her own as well as recorded. A highly acknowledged as a Broadway performer she has been awarded seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honourary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She won three. Four of the Broadway casting albums in which she has starred have received Grammy Awards.
Many consider Peters as the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is most well-known for her performances on Broadway like Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
